Mallory's First Dance Recital

The holidays kicked my tail, so please take my apologies for the long gap in between posts. Before Christmas and New Years blew through this house, leaving a wrapping paper/gooey goodies/candy cane/new toy twist tie/too many leftovers to count debris trail the length of the Nile River in ever room, Mallory had her very first dance recital. I had mentioned previously in this blog that Mallory is dancing with Just For Kix. She just loves dance and had been working really, really hard each week. I do not consider myself a stage mom by any means, but I do want to see her succeed, so I expect her to pay attention and do well.

I was a little concerned about the recital because Mallory has a girl in her class that I feel is to young to be in the class as she does not always pay attention and only dances when she wants to. I have seen this week in and week out at rehearsals, including one night where all she did was run around in circles off to the side. She happens to stand right next to Mallory and Mallory is sometimes more concerned with what that girl was doing rather than her own performance. I was worried for no reason. When it came down to it, Mallory performed perfectly!

Mallory's first recital was held on Saturday, December 17th at the Robert Boeckman Middle School in Farmington. I had every intention of putting a video on here of her first dance recital, but I am not a computer geek and I am having trouble using the right format to get it to download. I guess pictures will have to do. Their first song was Magic Tutu and their second was Santa Claus is Coming to Town. They danced back to back about halfway through the show. Grandpa and Grandma Hauer were there, along with Grandma Dee, Mallory's Godmother Kelly and her husband Drew. It was just WONDERFUL having all that support for Mallory and Christopher and I. This was our first dance recital too! Her audience was not disappointed! She danced beautifully and didn't miss one step. I cannot tell you how proud we are of her, it is very hard to put it into words, she did amazing!

I am sorry I have no action shots of her actually dancing. I was watching Mallory! I did snap this shot showing how much she enjoys Just For Kix!
