The Sunshine Award

We recently attended the Farmington Competition Cheer Banquet to celebrate Mallory's first year of competition cheer.  We had a nice dinner and got to watch a fun video montage of their season.  The highlight of the evening was watching Mallory get her certificate of participation and her FCCT medal.  Mallory certainly enjoyed the recognition and we are very proud of her!

After everyone got their certificates and medals, Coach Jen announced it was time for some special awards.  The first award of the night was The Sunshine Award.  Here is it's description.....

The team member who keeps time spent together light and fun. You can always count on them for a joke, a funny story or a great laugh. They always see the brighter and lighter side of things and keep things running smoothly on the team.

When Mallory's name was called, she wasted no time and headed right up to the front to receive her trophy.  We both know Mallory is a happy little girl but this was a nice recognition of her happy and joyful attitude.  We were a little overcome with emotion.  It's very rewarding as a parent to know your child is thriving AND making others happy while being themselves.  Amazing!!!!!

The girls from her Pee Wee team were able to play with one another for a little while after all the special awards were handed out but soon enough the FCCT season had officially come to an end.  On the ride home we asked Mallory if she had enjoyed the season and if she thinks she will want to participate again next fall?  She answered with a simple yes.  Then she said "for the rest of my life".
