FIRST GRADE

Tuesday, September 2nd was Mallory's first day of first grade at Akin Road elementary school. She was a little nervous the night before so we read the book The Night Before First Grade.

She really liked the book and so did we.  We snuggled for a while, said good night, and she fell asleep soundly.

She woke up the next morning at 6:30 ready to go!  She was all smiles and was counting down the minutes until the bus would come. This year was a lot easier and a lot less stressful for all of us because Mallory had such a great kindergarten year. She likes school, she's good at it, so Christopher and I worry a lot less.  She ate a great breakfast, put her backpack together and out the door we went.

We walked to the bus stop with our neighbors, The Stovall's, and met the other neighborhood kids at the stop.  It was so cute to see all the kids in their new clothes, shoes and hairdo's.   They were giddy and happy, all of them, smiling and full of excitement.  I just love moments like that.  

They all had a great first day!  They played together outside when they got home, however; they were all inside and ready for bed by 8:00PM that night, everyone was so tired!  We are all looking forward to a great school year!
