Each year Akin Road Elementary School host Grand Day. The first graders put on a little show for someone GRAND in there lives. Mallory is very fortunate to have very supportive grandparents. Grandma Dee, Grandma and Grandpa Hauer are always available for these events!
For as long as I can remember, Mallory has been rehearsing for Grand Day. Not only do they rehearse at school but she rehearses in the shower, in the car, at the dinner table and pretty any time anyone is willing to watch. We simply could not wait for the show!
I have yet to master the art of taking digital picture in a gymnasium so this one is blurry, as usual. The first graders all filed in, onto their spot on the bleachers and then the principal gave them all a chance to find their Grand person, wave and smile a bit before starting the program. It was such a touching moment.
They did a wonderful job with their performance! Always smiling and happy was Mallory. After the performance, the students were able to take their guests to their classrooms to see some of the things they have been working on in the first grade. Mallory was very proud of herself and her accomplishments. So are we! It really was a GRAND day!
