Treasures

When I was growing up, I had a Doberman Pincher named Alex. Every morning Alex would line up her favorite things, right outside Mom and Dad's, along the brick wall that closed in the porch. They had a large picture window on the front of their house, and when you would open the curtains in the morning, there were all of Alex's treasures from the night before. Usually a tennis ball, a bone of some type, every now and then a small carcass. It was so funny, and special.

Well, Mallory has her own little treasures. She keeps them in her Bumbo seat. While she's tooling around the living room, every few minutes she will head back to her "treasure chest" and take a look in there. She stirs it around like a cauldron sometimes, it's SO FUNNY! I decided to snap a picture to share. On this particular day, her treasures included...

Plastic Easter Eggs
One side of her tic tac toe box
One shoe

It's truly amazing to watch her learn. What a wonderful feeling when you see her make the connection! She had one shoe in her hands and went looking for the other one, and where did she find it? Yep, in her treasures!
