Ahhhh Spring!

What a great weekend to be a Minnesotan! Since the weather was so nice, and we didn't have any solid plans, we just kind of vegged out around the house and spent our entire weekend together as a family. It was wonderful!

On Saturday, in the morning, I went for a three mile run, pushing Mallory in our jogging stroller for the first time. I was worried it would be super hard to push and not have the momentum from my arms pumping, but it wasn't that bad. Mallory really enjoyed the serenity of the morning, checking out all the geese and ducks on the ponds in between the trails, and I enjoyed having a running partner.

In the afternoon, Christopher took the scooter for it's first ride, so Mallory and I played and played in the back yard. We kicked balls back and for, rolled in the grass and blew bubbles. We had such a great time, can you tell?

When Christopher returned, he grilled up some burgers and fries, and we ate like kings and queens. Mallory really enjoyed eating outside at the picnic table. She thought it was pretty neat, having her own seat along side mom and dad.

Once the dishes were clean, we headed to Dairy Queen for an evening treat. We have given Mallory ice cream many times before, and she really enjoys it, but recently has not wanted to have any due to the fact she can't feed it to herself. She is an independent little girl, and doesn't like any help at first. Believe it or not, this independent force has kept her from enjoying ice cream, because she wouldn't eat it off of a spoon that I or Christopher was using.

So this time, we went armed with a bib, ready to let her try an ice cream cone on her own.

She did great! Holding onto the cone with two hands for the entire duration, and never really making much of a mess at all. Just licking and licking, until Christopher showed her how to actually bit into the cone part. That made if official, she was an ice cream cone eating machine, check out this video to see for yourself!
