Bowling Babe

A big thank you to the Father of Five for the link on his Facebook page which brought to my attention a summer of FREE bowling at AMF Bowling centers. Actually the credit should go to Kevin at Daddy's Fish Bowl. He brought it to FOF's attention who in turn posted the link. Mallory has never been bowling before, so I figured the best way to find out whether or not she will like it, is when it's free! I've been waiting for a time that both Christopher and I could take Mallory bowling so we could both watch her partake in it for the first time. I guess the Minnesota State shutdown came at a good time, and I didn't feel the least bit guilty going out for the day, since it was FREE!

Off we went to AMF City Limits on a Tuesday afternoon. There was only one other teen aged couple bowling, so we practically had the alley to ourselves. Mallory was SUPER excited to try it. She was hands on the whole way. Even though the six pound ball was a little too heavy for her, she insisted on carrying it all by herself. Once she allowed me to show her how to use the finger holes to help her carry it, the game was ON!

We had lots of fun watching her. She was a ball of energy the whole time, and even though it only took an hour for her to play two games, we had an ENTIRE afternoon of smiles and laughs. Here are a few more pics of Mallory enjoying her first bowling experience.

Thanks again FOF and DFB! If it wasn't for you two, I am not sure this would've happened this summer. She's been asking to go for a second time and I am certain when we get that rainy day, that's where you'll find us. YAY FOR BOWLING!
