Swimming Lessons at Wise Swim School

Thank you Community Ed for the past three years of parent/tot swimming lessons, but we are moving on to bigger and better things. We have decided to enroll Mallory in swimming lessons at Wise Swim School in Apple Valley. Don't get me wrong, CE did a fine job, but Mallory needs to learn how to swim on her own and since CE doesn't offer a non parent/tot class until she is five years old, we had to start looking elsewhere. Plus the water was sooooo cold. Mallory is very interested in and not afraid of the water. Since we spend our summer weekends at Lake Jefferson and summer weekdays in Grandma Dee's pool, it's important to both of us she learns how to swim properly.

At three years old she is a beginner so she is enrolled in their Mini Dolphin 1 class. The purpose of this class is to get the kids used to the water, put their face in the water, float and jump into the pool on their own. There are only three kids including Mallory in her class, so there is A LOT of one on one time with the instructor. Mallory has Mrs. Andrea for an instructor and she likes her very much. Mallory's lessons are Monday mornings, so Christopher and I can both attend to watch. We are very pleased with the results so far and have nothing but good things to say about Wise Swim School and Mrs. Andrea. Mallory is already showing great improvement in her abilities to swim on her own. We are already talking about registering right away for the second winter session to keep up her newly learned skills.

On top of all the skills she is learning, she is having a BLAST! She NEVER smiled like this during our CE lessons. My guess is because the water is warm at Wise Swim School. They keeps the pool around 92 degrees, so the water is always comfortable. We never have trouble getting her to comply with our requests when we are on our way to Wise!
