Happy New Year! Five Months Old.

Happy New Year everyone, Mallory is now five months old. She is doing very well for her age and is developing a little ahead of the game (at least that's what the doc said). She is still a very happy baby, only crying when she is hungry, or maybe a little tired. Mallory has started going to be a little earlier at night, usually between 8:00PM and 8:30PM, and still sleeping through the night until about 6:50AM. We get up at 7:00AM to start our day anyhow, so that's a nice treat for us. Yes, we know we are very lucky!

Mallory has been eating rice cereal for a whole month now, with some flavor added like bananas, pears and applesauce. We feed her cereal twice a day, once in the morning, and once in the evening. She just loves it, and gets real excited when you put her in her high chair and start the food making process. She is content to watch and wait, as long as she isn't starving. Sometimes we end up letting her had some of her bottle first, just to get some satisfaction going, and then the cereal. She never leaves any behind, she is still a very good eater.

Mallory has started sitting up more and more, but can only balance herself for a few minutes before tumbling backwards. The bed is a real good place to practice, as it's a soft landing when she gives up. She can sit between your legs with support for quite a while, but gets frustrated easily. She still plays in her exersacuer on a daily basis and is long enough now that her feet touch the bottom, giving her more support and the ability to move around in it.
Naps are becoming more and more scheduled. Usually a short one in the morning, another short one in the early afternoon, a longer one in the late afternoon and a short one in the evening. Although the evening one lately seems to take her into her sleep for the night. That one I think we become a thing of the past soon.
.
That's really about it, for now, we are looking forward to a great 2009, happy and healthy!!!

Oh, by the way, Mallory passed out last night from all of the craziness that New Years Eve brings....
