The Big Melt

We all know how nice the weather has been outside, so we have been taking full advantage of that around here. Even the pets have a bad case of cabin fever, but Chico was able to run around in our driveway and on the street for a full afternoon with us. Ebony got her fix this past Sunday, when we were cleaning the house with the windows open.

Last week was warm enough to chip away at some of the ice at the end of the driveway and move some of the snow around. It was a good opportunity to clear away the storm drain, so the melting snow would have somewhere to go. Christopher and our neighbor Tom, worked for about an hour chipping away at the ice. Mallory was more than happy to help. Here is a little video of her, watching them work and getting right in the middle of it all.

She was so happy to be running around outside. Can’t you tell???

We also played with her soft Nerf soccer ball, kicking it back and forth, and playing catch. She even tried to toss it up into the full sized, regulation basketball hoop, (no joke) and was a little sad when she couldn't’t quite make it up there (wasn’t even close), but clapped and laughed when mommy shot a few hoops with it. That made her day!

I recently purchased from Craigslist, I small table, flipped over it's a seesaw, for Mallory, when she is able to play outside this summer. The add stated it was dirty, but a hose in the spring would do the trick. So, that’s what we are waiting to do, use the hose in the spring, while it sits in our garage. Mallory had other plans when she found it, so we dragged it out, dirt and all, and let her get used to it. She seemed to really like it, so I am looking forward to using it more often this summer.

They were so exhausted at the end of the day, when Christopher got ready for bed that night, Mallory decided she was going to hit they hay with him, right in my spot!

We have our last swimming lesson session on Saturday, and both Grandma and Grandpa Hauer and Grandma Dee are going to attend. Here's hoping she has a good session with such an audience!
