Swimming Lessons 2010

We enrolled Mallory in another session of swimming lessons this winter, to keep her familiar with the water (for the summer at the cabin), and have a little indoor fun on the weekends. This time we used the Lakeville Area Public Schools Community Education, and just like Farmington, they did a great job! Our instructor was very caring and patient with the babies and toddlers, and had all sorts of fun ideas and games to interact with your child in the water. Mallory had a BLAST and as usual, did not want to leave the pool. There was one week however, in which the water was pretty cold, that was the one and only day she wanted to leave early! She graduated last Saturday, with an official American Red Cross certificate and card! We are so proud of her!

Here is a short video of Mallory swimming around the pool. Check out how she's kicking her legs!
The following Sunday, we were treated to a wonderful dinner at Grandma Dee's. For those of you read this, and are on Facebook, this dinner inspired my status which read "I ate so much I nearly split my pants!" Prime Rib, twice baked potatoes, and sweet strawberry lettuce salad, you can't go wrong! Mallory tried a little of everything she had on her plate, but was particularly interested in the plate of relishes on the table. If you remember about a month ago, I posted an entry about our Valentines Day trip to the MN Wild game. In that post, I talked about Mallory eating raw onions from the nacho tray. Well, she did it again! This time she munched down two green onion stalks like they were carrots. Unreal.

With Mallory growing bigger and better each day, she as been quite the little monkey around the house. I just wanted to share with you a very cute routine she has. Ever since she figured out the light switch on the wall, above the couch, she has to check it out a couple of times a day, so make sure it still does what she knows it to do. Yes, it still turned on and off the entryway light, and the floor lamp behind the couch. It's like her job, she gets up there, turns them both on, looks at the lights while they are on, and then turns them back off, and checks them to make sure they are no longer on. Once she's satisfied, then she gets back down off the couch. Too funny!

That's really about it for now, been a longer weekend since it was too cold to be outside for long periods of time. :( That's okay, we're heading for a warm up and with all of the snow melted around our house, Mallory can go crazy in the back yard on a daily basis
