Here we go again, another round of Gymnastics started for Mallory last night. It's the same class as our last session, with a few new faces and a few repeats. She's been talking about it all week, and could NOT sit still last night waiting for the class to begin. The biggest difference this time around, Mallory was one of the "big kids" in her class, last time she was one of the youngest. She's a natural born leader and went first every time.
Our teacher last night was one of the Farmington High School Gymnastics assistant coaches. His name was Nick. He did wonderful with all the kids and Mallory just loved Nick. She was following him around like a little girl with a big crush and for one of the few times in her life, she actually sat still and listened to his directions. It was really sweet.
When he kids finish a particular event, they are to stand up straight and tall, put their arms up in the air and say TA DA. Most kids will say it, but Mallory SHOUTS it. She had so much fun, and Christopher and I both really enjoyed watching our little gymnast last night. It's only been eight weeks since her last gymnastics session ended, but she seems to have really grown between then and now. She can complete all of the required moves and events with ease and she listens. We are looking forward to Wednesday nights for the next two months!
