Chaos Waterpark

Since Mallory has been taking swimming lessons, and improving so much each week, we decided she deserved to have some fun in the water for a change. Well, it's winter here, so outdoor water fun is not a reality at this point. I had every intention of taking Mallory to an indoor water park/overnight stay in a hotel, but we just didn't know where. There are several in the metro area, but I have a hard time spending money to stay in a hotel when you can drive a short distance home and stay in the comfort of your own home. We started looking at the Duluth area and even up in Alexandria when a friend of mine mentioned to me there was a newer hotel/water park in Eau Claire, Wisconsin called The Metropolis.

At The Metropolis, they have an indoor water park called Chaos. We chose this location because it was close enough that it would not require a long drive, it was very reasonably priced, and the water park had several toddler friend attractions rather then just one or two. Mallory was also tall enough to enjoy all the attractions except for one slide. All these combined sealed the deal, so we made the reservation and planned for our little adventure.

We told Mallory about it the day before we left. That night when she went to sleep, she confirmed with us we were leaving the next day. She was up at 6:30AM the morning of our departure, a little excited I guess. We couldn't check into our hotel room right away, but they gave us our water park passes to use until our room was ready. We spent the entire day at the water park. Mallory had so much fun and she was so well behaved. Even with the early wake up time, no nap and all the activity in the water, she was the perfect kid. I will let the pictures below tell the story...

There was a series of water slides in which Mallory was NOT afraid to try. The first picture is off all the slides, the next series of pics are Mallory coming to the end of her first run!

There was a splash zone with all kinds of water spouts shooting every which way. Up, down, in, out, left, right, over and under. Most of them worked on a pressure system. If you plugged one spout, more water would come out of another and so on. Mallory was not so sure of it at first, but eventually got brave and gave it a go.

We swam, played in the splash zone, rode the lazy river, hung out in the hot tub, and went down the slides, countless amounts! She had a BLAST and so did we! I am pretty sure we'll make it a yearly tradition in February. I would like to try several other indoor water park's in the area to give her a real experience. It was great family together time, just the three of us.
