Around Christmas time last year, Christopher and I felt it was time to take Mallory to her first movie in a movie theater. We've been told by friends that have kids the same age that 3.5 is a great age to go to the theater for the first time. Well, that's right where we are my friends so why not? The only problem is there were not a lot of toddler friendly movies out around Christmas time. We waited and waited and then came Dr. Seuss's The Lorax.
We presented her with the idea yesterday and she instantly said yes. She was very excited to go and as soon as we left for the theater, she had all kinds of questions about how the day was going to go. Once inside the theater, she was very much soaking up the experience. There were promotional movie cardboard cutouts , video games, a BIG concessions counter and of course The Lorax poster.

Once we had our tickets, we headed over to the concession stand. They have a kids pack that includes popcorn, gummi bears and an ICEE! Mallory absolutely LOVES Icee's so this made her theater experience even more special!
Mallory did great during the movie! She enjoyed her movie theater treats while we watched The Lorax as a family. It was a very cute movie and I especially enjoyed the Lorax himself. She was about as quiet as anyone could expect a three year old to be and was certain to point out all the things she recognized as the movie played on. I am going to go out on a limb and say she really liked it because when it was over she asked if another Lorax was coming on next as she would like to see it again!
Another first checked off the list!

That popcorn and pop tray is as big as she is!!
Where did she put it all??
I can't wait to see the Lorax too!
Actually Dave she did really great with all those goodies. She LOVES Icee's so no problem there. She made quick work of the gummi bears as well and then ate about half of that popcorn. Sometimes I wonder how they can eat all that stuff and NOT get sick! We had such a great time!
