A First Last

Thursday, May 31st was Mallory's First Last day of school, pre-school that is.  A few days before Christopher and I started explaining to Mallory that school was coming to an end and she wouldn't be going to school for a few months.  She was sad at first but when she heard us say she will be returning in the fall, she was happy again.  She really enjoys going to school and I know she will have her moments this summer in which she wishes she was there instead of at home with us.  That's a good thing, right?

Her last day was really special because Christopher was able to go with her.  Because of his work schedule he does not get to drop off and pick up Mallory at school very often.  He even went to her ice cream social to celebrate the end of the year.  It was a special even for both of them!

Christopher had taken a bunch of photos, but I forgot to put the SD Card back in the camera, so those were a bust.  In the words of the great Homer Simpson, D'OH!  He was still able to snap a few with his phone's camera.  Here is a picture of Mallory with her teacher, Mrs. Aune.  We all LOVE Mrs. Aune.  What a fantastic teacher she is!  There is a possibility Mallory will be assigned to her next year too, although not likely, she certainly helped this set of first time parents through their child's first year of school.

The kids had a great time sitting outside enjoying their ice cream and playing with one another.  They also sang and performed to songs they learned throughout the school year.  Here is a video of that, which is about ten minutes long.

I am having a hard time believing it is over.  It really went by quickly.  We are both so very proud of Mallory for this accomplishment.  She also completed the year with perfect attendance!  I do think this is the perfect finish to the perfect start of her schooling!
