Hello loved ones! I am glad you were able to find Mallory's blog. I will do my best to keep this updated frequently so everyone can see our little angel grow. This happens to be the first post for this blog, which will channel many more of Mallory's firsts!
A little description for those of you I have not had a chance to chat with recently. Mallory was born on Thursday, July 31st at 11:54PM. She weighed 7 lbs 10 oz, and was 21.5 inches long. Since we have brought her home, we have been learning all about her as she writes her own book. Mallory is a very good baby! She only gets fussy when she is hungry and maybe lets out a little cry when she is wet. She will let you know when she wants to change positions by getting really squirmy, but rarely every cries in that situation. She sleeps 5-6 hours at night (was never really less than 4) and loves to chill and just hang out. She is very mellow (get's that from her daddy) and is not hard to please. Mallory is bottle feeding and is currently eating around 4 ounces each feeding. She didn't really care for bath time at first, but has really begun to embrace it, even giving mommy a little smile while she is in her tub. Overall, a great little girl whom we are so blessed to have!
A couple of recent changes....
1. Mallory used her last newborn diaper last night. She has now switched to #1 diapers. Sounds funny, but mommy was a little sad.
2. Newborn sleepers are starting to come off of her shoulders a little, we tried a 0-3 month sleeper last night and she seemed a little more comfortable in that. ANOTHER sad moment for mommy.
3. Mallory slept 6.5 hours again last night! That is the second time this week! What a great baby! It sure helps to take care of her when mommy and daddy are well rested!
4. There are an abundance of smiles these days, especially when she wakes up for the first time in the morning, or after a little snooze. Daddy seems to get the biggest ones.
5. I bought Mallory a bouncer the other day, she seems to really like it. Although she is not strong enough to make it "bounce", she really enjoys sitting in it and watching the world around her. It props her up so she can participate more with mommy and daddy, and it has calming vibrations. You don't want to turn that off once she falls asleep though, she wakes right back up!
That's about it for now, stay tuned for more and more Mallory!
