We bought a pass to the Minnesota Zoo. Mallory is still free, but now Christopher can go as often as they would like for free! Parking included!!! They have already tried out their new zoo pass, and ran into none other than Rebecca (daycare) and her clan. They hung out all afternoon checking out everything from Apes to Zebras. I have been told, Mallory very much enjoyed the water related exhibits and the Prairie Dogs, which she is so intently starting at in the following photos….

Starting next Monday, for two weeks, Mallory will be taking swimming lessons. The Farmington outdoor pool offers Parent and Tot classes for 8 days, ½ hour sessions. I am so excited for her and Christopher! She is definitely a water baby, so this will be fun for her and hopefully she will be able to learn a thing or two. I plan to take one afternoon off, so I can come and play proud mommy (and wife) in the stands!
On Sunday we went to the Hopkins Raspberry Festival and attended the parade. This was Mallory’s third parade, and she still is not so sure about all those fire trucks and all the noise they make. Here is a short video of her perplexed look….
We went to a friend’s house for a pool party afterwards, and while we didn’t swim, Mallory had a great time on their swing! As usual, she couldn’t get enough of it, as you can hear her squealing with delight in this video….
Some new fun accomplishments…
1. She can say shoe, but it comes out SOO. She points at her feet when you say it with her.

2. We tried all kinds some fun foods this weekend, like mini donuts (didn’t really care for them), brownies (mixed reactions), and fruit salad (LOVED IT).

3. Mallory likes to walk, holding onto your hands. She will back herself up into your lap, grab onto a finger on each hand, stand up and want to go. I was lucky enough to find on clearance at Target, a set of walking wings. They are a harness type apparatus, with handles that extend up, so the adult walking behind the baby doesn’t have to bend over all the time. I am at a perfect height for Mallory, but Christopher has to bend. To bad Mallory doesn't care for them. She absolutely will not walk with the Walking Wings, her legs just collapse! Good thing I did not pay full price for them.

4. We have made the official move into 12 month clothing. There are still a few 9 month things that fit her, but for the most part, everything is 12 months now. Except for these onesies I found at the bottom of one of her drawers, they are 3-6 months, and they are huge on her! Sizing for babies is soooo weird!
.
5. Still in # 3 diapers, although we are going to try # 4’s for nighttime. Mallory has been going without her morning nap (due to the new work schedule for Christopher) and taking a longer afternoon nap. This also means an earlier bedtime and one more hour thru the night. Her #3 overnights have been leaking a little, so we’re going to try one size up. She’s not quite there just yet, weight wise, but I will let you know in the morning if they worked or not!

6. We have a new car seat, all ready installed in the Chrysler 300. It is really nice not having to take her infant seat in and out all the time. Pretty soon we can turn that one around and daddy will be able to see her pretty face! We do still have to get another forward facing seat for my car, and we will probably just get one more like she one she has now. We are very happy with it so far and it was very reasonably priced. We ended up going with an Evenflo, Tribute 5. Although I don't think Mallory even needs a car seat, she's ready to drive!
