Kolacky Days

Kolacky Days 2009 has come and gone, and boy did we have fun. Our Kolacky experience started out with a visit to the cabin, joined by my friend Valerie, who was home from San Antonio. Her daughter Lily, and her parents Fred and Joyce also joined us. We had such a good time, just hanging out and catching up. All of us together again, it was surreal having kids this time, but so rewarding. We grilled hot dogs, played on the deck and swing, and at the end of the day, all of us went for a pontoon ride. While Mallory is not fond of her life jacket, she eventually warmed up to it, and had a good time with Grandma. She was really tired, and took a nap on the ride, but overall she seemed to have fun.

We spent our Saturday in Montgomery at the Classic Car Show, bumping into old friends and family, and enjoying a good Czech treat from time to time. Mallory loved to look at all the shiny cars, and pointed at her favorites. Those were usually the ones we stopped in front of to admire!
Saturday evening was good for some time with mom and dad at the cabin. Mallory just loves her books, so here is a cute snapshot of daddy taking some time to read to his daughter.
On Sunday we headed back to town for the Grand Parade. We were able to cruise around main street, in her stroller a little before the parade started, and we got to see our good friends Molly, Rob and their son Henry. Here are a couple of really cute pictures of the kids together.

Once we were done vising with them, and got a bite to eat, we headed back to our shaded spot, and got ready to watch the parade. Mallory was all ready to go....
She just loves parades. She is unsure of the fire trucks, but everything is very interesting to her, and the fact that is moves by slowly, gives her an opportunity to see everything she wants. Mallory likes music all the way around, her little legs and feet are always moving to the beat, no matter where we hear tunes. The parade is no exception, in this video you can even hear her "singing" with the band as it passes by.

We had another great year in Montgomery, and can't wait for next year, to do it all over again!
