The sessions were 30 mins long, and Mallory always the first in the pool, and the last one out. If they had to wait for the instructor, she couldn’t stand it. She would sit on daddy’s lap, just pointing at the water, and squealing to get in. She just loves the water.
Everyday they would work on one new skill.
WEEK ONE
Day One: Blowing bubbles – while all the other kids did just fine, Mallory just drank the pool water. Oh well.
Day Two: Kicking – Mallory did great! Christopher would throw ping pong balls out into the water in front of her, and she would kick her little legs to move towards them.
Day Three: Paddling with her arms – not the easiest task, but she still tried. They ended up getting out of the water early this day, as it was only 68 degrees outside, and Mallory was pretty cold.
Day Four: Missed due to weather.

WEEK TWO
Day One: Playing with toys – Mallory was given a selection of toys to play with in the water, and she picked balls. She liked to pick them up and throw them back in the water.
Day Two: More kicking and floating – Christopher was holding her most of the time, but they worked in floating on your tummy, and kicking while in that position. I was able to go and watch this day, and that is where the photos come from.
Day Three: Jumping into the pool – Mallory can’t stand on her own, so in the 1 foot deep pool, Christopher would sit her on the edge, and she would “jump” in the water towards him. They did this over and over about 30 times. She just loved it! Here is a video of that event....
Day Four: Play time and Graduation – nothing to crazy, just lots of fun time in the pool!
I am so happy we enrolled her and Christopher was able to be there with her. They had a great bonding experience, and the more exposure to the water, the better. Mallory really seems to enjoy the water (had it in her genes I guess), and getting to have daddy there with her, I am sure made it all that much more special. We will definitely be signing her up again next year.
